The bathroom has enough moisture to feed molds especially if you take long hot showers. The steam would produce a lot of moisture and if the moisture is not controlled, your bathroom could become a breeding ground. Molds would start to grow in your ceiling, walls and floors, even in areas that are not visible to your eyes. They can multiply without you knowing it and that could be dangerous.

Molds can also grow on your shower nozzles, shower knobs, shower curtains, and bathtubs. Molds could crawl or spores from the molds could fly and grow in different areas in your bathroom as well like on the base of toilet bowl, especially if the water pipelines on your toilet bowl tank are leaking. Also the inside of the toilet bowl tank can be a breeding place for molds. Your bathroom cabinets, sink, water knobs, mirrors and even your bathroom door can all become moldy. If you have rugs in your bathroom that are not washed regularly, they could absorb moisture and molds could grow and multiply on them.

How to prevent molds in the bathroom

Install an exhaust fan; it would keep the steam out of your house and not on the ceiling or wall. Use the exhaust fan when you are bathing and a few more minutes after. Fix all leaking water pipelines; make sure to fully close the shower knobs and faucets after use. You will not only avoid molds but would also save water bills. Clean on a regular basis and keep your bathrooms as dry as possible. If you do not have an exhaust fan you can open your windows during baths and open the door after you take a bath. It would be helpful if you can also use an electric fan just to let the steam off the room and out the window. It can also dry any steam on your ceiling, walls and floor. You can place a dehumidifier as well. Visit Mold Removal and learn more tips on how prevent, kill molds or hire experts.
